B. Ed. Programme  in Sadanlal Sanwaldas Khanna Girls` Degree College was recognized by NCTE with 100 intake for academic session 2004-05. Our faculty was established in the same session and shifted in session 2005-06 to its new building that is named as ‘Dr .Madhu Tandon B. Ed. faculty’ Since that time the entire faculty has been working together to take it to the epitome of success. We believe in our motto “Good Education depends upon Good Teachers and Goodness of Teachers depends upon Good Teacher Education”.  (Our third academic session, 2006-07 started in April 2007 , we observed 193 working days and 7 days training of guiding in camp organized in the month of December, the year passed on brilliantly with 98% result.) To achieve our targets we have adopted following to practices to suit the need and demand of the hour.


   Teaching Learning Evaluation .

 

Department develops academic calendar before the commencement of academic session. It promotes interactive teaching learning centered experiences.   The faculty is trying to stock a large number of conventional as well as I.C.T. based teaching learning aids and materials. In addition all trainees prepare teaching aids for use in the class room. Students are made familiar with evaluation methods and the University Scheme of evaluation and examination through as well as interaction with alumni. It uses paper pencil means for self appraisal by the faculty and the appraisal of faculty by students. Department developed a very sound programme of promoting value education for our trainees through a set of co- curricular activities which includes morning assembly, sessional work as well as community work, S.U.P.W. etc.

   Infrastructure and Learning Resources: 

 

We have a spacious 3 story building and auditorium. The library is very spacious and well furnished with over 2500 books, 15 magazines and journals and regular subscription of English and Hindi news  papers. There are two lecture halls, 5 method teaching rooms, one common room, one S.U.P.W. room, psychology, science and I.C.T. laboratories, a counselor room and hygienic Lavatories.  There is a canteen and recreational areas which meets the needs of faculty and students.

   Students Supports Systems :

 


We systematically collect feedback  from our students which is used for quality enhancement. We have 8 member students council which is democratically elected. The council plans and organizes co-curricular activities Organizes well fare activities and helps to resolve problems of students with the help of faculty members and coordinator. It has adequate facilities for indoor and outdoor games.

Preparation  For Future :  

 


Seminar classes were organized where students were allotted  a content from syllabi, they presented their papers which was followed by interjection round. A point worth credit is that right from first to last phase of the seminar pupil teachers conducted every activity. It was a good learning experience for them.

Sports session was  organized in the month of October, 2006 with the objective of training the pupil teachers for  organizing sports events and meets.

Students Supports Services :            

 

A Placement Cell is active in the department which assists the teacher trainees for placement in various schools.
The cell has energetic participation of all faculty member with responsible post of Director, School Relation Officer, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Training Officer. Information regarding vacancies is regularly collected and displayed teacher trainees are accordingly counseled and trained in the short term workshops conducted by Placement Cell.

Remedial classes for low achievers and needy trainees is regular affair, which has proved beneficial in our
pre-examination conducted to let the trainee now about there short coming.

To encourage the advanced learners the departments has established a ‘Think-Tank’ also.

Success Story :    

 



Over 54 students of academic session 2004-05 and 2005-06 are successfully placed in various school in and around U.P. and Uttarakhand.
25 Students  are enrolled in M.Ed. course to pursue higher education.
